Children's Ministries
Here at First United Methodist Church, we regard children as a priority! We believe they are our future! They are the future of our world and our Church, therefore we have committed ourselves to train them in the "Ways of the Lord". Our goal is to equip them to become disciples of Jesus Christ, through the reading, studying and discussion of the Holy Scriptures, through fellowship with other believers during our special events throughout the year, and through prayer, so that they may be empowered to live victorious lives.
Nursery
There is also an infant and young toddler nursery provided with paid staff for any church event or meeting upon request. This includes Sunday mornings and evenings, all committee meetings, choir rehearsals and programs, Wednesday night dinners and classes, and other Family Life activities. Ages for the infant nursery are newborn to 24 months in Room 109. A parent or guardian MUST sign in and out any children left in the nursery. We are very pleased with our nursery staff, and they are willing to do what is necessary to insure a clean, loving and safe environment for the children.

What's its all about?
KIDMO is an interactive media-based resource for Children's Sunday School that was instituted this Fall at First UMC in Roswell, NM.
Since that decision was made by our Children's Ministry Team, all of our children's classes have been re-energized by "Little K" and
Johnny Rodgers.
The elementary curriculum consists of six sections:
Preshow - High energy music videos and game stations leading to the countdown to find seats.
K'Motion - Three songs presented in video form with on-screen lyrics, lots of energy, and participation encouragement for everyone in the room.
Teaching - Dyamic lessons with fun, fast-paced humor and interactive and innovative messages.
Kwizmo - Lesson review with competition based questions, quizzes, and challenges.
Memory Max - Bible memory exercises utilizing hand motions, pnuemonics, and many other surprises.
Map Books - A take home study guide that reinforces the principles of the lesson.
Opportunities for Children
Sunday School - 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. All children will meet in the little Chapel for gathering time and then go to classrooms. Field trips once a month!
Children's Church After Children's sermon in the Sanctuary, children will go to Fellowship Hall for worship and activity.
Wednesday Evenings
Children Choirs: Ages 3 years - Kindergarten
Wesley Singers: 1st grade thru 5th grade
Kid's Time with Penny
Kid's special table and menu in Fellowship Hall. After choirs, children make service projects. Nursery - Infant thru Pre-school Includes learning centers: Art, Drama, Blocks & Toys, Music & Movement, Books, Games & Manipulatives.
